More than 600 supporters attend Tori’s Angels breakfast

Friends and supporters of Tori’s Angels Foundation showed up by the hundreds at their annual breakfast and silent auction on Sunday.  An estimated 600 people came to show their support for the foundation’s five honored Guthrie County sponsored children: Tori Heckman, Samuel Beal, Emma Reinhart, Emma King, and Morgan Sheeder—as well as other Tori’s Angels sponsored children. At one point during the morning, there was a line of supporters patiently waiting down the center aisle of the community center in Panora.
Attendees were extremely generous with their donations for the free-will breakfast and donated over 125 silent auction items, making the event the top 5 fundraiser for the foundation.  Family members of 12 of the foundation’s sponsored children were able to attend.
Tori’s Angels raises funds to help the families of their supported children who have life-threatening medical conditions. The foundation pays all medical expenses not covered by insurance from the date of sponsorship.  This includes travel expenses to treatment (airfare, hotel, meals), as well as medical co-pays, deductibles, and prescription medicine.  The foundation now supports 23 children in Central Iowa, having sponsored a total of 29 children since 2010.
Tori’s Angels wishes to sincerely thank everyone who made this event so successful—from hard-working volunteers to each donor. They are grateful for the outpouring of support.
An unusual Tori’s Angels benefit is coming up on Saturday, July 22, in Grimes.  Families needing sports physicals for their children are invited to attend the Tori’s Angels event on Saturday at the Grimes Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Nurse practitioners from the Ankeny Walk-in Clinic will provide sports physicals for all ages for a free-will offering.  The free-will offering lunch will include walking tacos, hot dogs, chips, bars, and lemonade.  The silent auction will feature a variety of valuable and interesting items.  The silent auction will end at 1:30 p.m.
Those who wish to donate to help Tori’s Angels children are invited to send donations to the foundation’s chairman, Bill Ridgley, at 4677 Panorama Dr, Panora IA 50216.  An online donation option is located on the Tori’s Angels Facebook page.  Supporters can “Like” the Tori’s Angels Facebook page to receive regular updates on the children.
