A fourth suspect, who caused a large search effort after fleeing a traffic stop, has been caught.
The incident happened Sunday morning in Candler County, Georgia. Deputies were alerted that the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) was chasing a vehicle on Interstate 16 heading into the county.
The chase ended near mile markers 95 and 96, where four suspects, believed to be armed, ran away from the vehicle after the stop. GSP and local deputies searched the area around Interstate 16 in Aline. By Sunday afternoon, three suspects were arrested, and a gun was recovered.
Officials discovered that the vehicle involved in the chase had been stolen from another state.
Later that evening, the fourth suspect was caught after a citizen reported seeing someone walking along the highway near the search area. Authorities have not released the suspects’ names or ages.
The investigation is still ongoing.
