Alex Murdaugh Ordered to Pay $14.8 Million in Insurance Fraud Case

Alex Murdaugh, the convicted murderer currently serving life sentences for the murders of his wife and son, has lost another legal battle.

A judge ruled that Murdaugh must pay $14.8 million in damages to Nautilus Insurance.

This ruling stems from a fraudulent insurance scheme involving his former housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield, in which Murdaugh fabricated a story about her death to secure a $3.8 million settlement.

In addition to his convictions for the murders, Murdaugh is also serving a 40-year sentence for financial crimes.

Meanwhile, a Hulu series about the Murdaugh family murders is set to be filmed in Atlanta.
