A Bay Area woman, Serico Justice, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for the fatal shooting of her alleged romantic rival, Hannisha Willis, in a love triangle.
On December 27, 2022, Antioch police responded to an altercation between the two women, which ended with Justice shooting Willis in the head. Willis later died from her injuries.
Justice, 37 at the time, initially claimed the shooting was accidental, occurring during a scuffle after Willis punched her. However, police discovered both women were involved with the same man, who lived nearby.
Justice, now 39, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter, and a Contra Costa County judge sentenced her to 21 years in prison. She will be eligible for parole in May 2037 and is currently incarcerated at the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla.
