The Walker County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning following multiple reports of a classic scam call.
In a Facebook post, the office stated that scammers are impersonating agency employees and soliciting money from potential victims to resolve warrants or avoid legal trouble.
These scammers also suggest using bitcoins or Green Dot cards instead of cash.
The WCSO reassures residents that they will never call asking for money, bitcoin, or Green Dot cards.“Please protect your information and do not share any personal details with individuals you do not know.
Additionally, do not send money to anyone unfamiliar,” the post emphasized.
