An Ohio father is now facing criminal charges after being dragged under a car while allegedly teaching his 9-year-old son to drive, according to local reports.
Clejuan Williams, 36, from Toledo, was reportedly intoxicated during the incident, according to WTVG, which cited police sources.
Footage obtained by Fox News Digital shows a vehicle slowly reversing from a residential driveway. Moments later, the car accelerates and crashes into a pole across the street.
In the dramatic video, a man standing on the driver’s side is knocked down by the open door and dragged under the car.
Police state that Williams instructed his son to press a pedal, but the boy, unclear about which pedal, allegedly hit the gas.
A neighbor told WTVG that Williams is recovering in the hospital. However, the neighbor also claimed that Williams said he was trying to retrieve his keys—not teaching his son to drive—when the incident occurred.
Williams has been charged with wrongful entrustment of a motor vehicle and child endangerment.
