BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Russian woman who previously stowed away on a flight from New York City to Paris last month has been arrested again in Buffalo, authorities reported.
Svetlana Dali, 57, was set to appear in federal court in Buffalo on Tuesday afternoon, according to Barbara Burns, spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for western New York.
Officials stated that Dali bypassed security at John F. Kennedy International Airport and boarded a Delta Air Lines flight to Paris as a stowaway on November 26.
French authorities detained Dali upon the plane’s arrival in Paris early on November 27.
Dali, a legal U.S. resident, was returned to New York and appeared in federal court in Brooklyn on December 5, facing charges of being a stowaway.
During a bail hearing the next day, U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph A. Marutollo ordered her release with electronic monitoring, a curfew, and a requirement to reside at the Philadelphia home of a man she had met at church functions.
Details about her Monday arrest in Buffalo have not yet been released by federal prosecutors.
Michael Schneider, the attorney who represented Dali in Brooklyn, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
