Georgia Hosts Largest Pickleball Tournament in State History at Macon s Rhythm and Rally Sports Center

Georgia is hosting its largest pickleball tournament in state history at the Rhythm and Rally Sports and Events Center in Macon, the world’s largest indoor pickleball facility.

The Southern Pickleball Championships, organized by the Southern Pickleball Association, features medalists from across the southeastern U.S., who have earned their spots through regional events held throughout 2024. With over 1,200 players participating, the tournament runs through Sunday, Jan. 5, 2024.

This event is expected to generate an economic impact of around $870,000 for Macon-Bibb County, benefiting local residents, businesses, and the community.

Due to capacity limits, many players were turned away, highlighting the growing popularity of pickleball.

Tournament activities include singles on Friday, doubles on Saturday, and mixed doubles on Sunday, with spectators welcome to watch.

The event offers an opportunity for locals and visitors to experience top-tier pickleball action and explore the state-of-the-art facility.
