Good morning, everyone! Cold air is still hanging around the Northeast, and another cold blast will hit on Thursday. This one will bring strong winds, some rain, and light snow. The chilly weather will stick around through the weekend, possibly leading to freezing rain or snow on Monday or Tuesday as another storm arrives.
In other areas, unusually cold weather has reached the Southeast and is staying there for now. Tonight into tomorrow morning, parts of Georgia and Florida will see heavy frost and freezing temperatures, especially in central Georgia and northern Florida. Temperatures should warm up a bit by Friday, and a milder weekend is expected.
In Texas, much-needed rain is coming from the Gulf of Mexico. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will affect southern Texas, then move towards Louisiana and Mississippi. Some of these storms could be severe, with strong winds, hail, lightning, and heavy rain. There’s also a chance of waterspouts along the coast.
