Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds Introduces Families First Bill for Paid Parental Leave

Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa has proposed the Families First Bill, which aims to provide paid parental leave for state employees.

The bill, introduced to the Iowa House and Senate, would offer four weeks of paid maternity leave, one week of paid paternity leave, and four weeks of paid leave for employees who adopt a child.

Currently, Iowa state employees do not receive paid parental leave.

Governor Reynolds emphasized the importance of family and bonding time, citing federal policies under President Trump and the example of other states that have already implemented similar measures.
