Kansas Players Score Big with Over 32,000 MegaMillions Prizes Following $1.22 Billion Jackpot Win

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – While the MegaMillions jackpot reached a staggering $1.22 billion, Kansans are still celebrating smaller wins following Friday’s drawing.

The jackpot, which had been growing since September 10, was won by a lucky ticket holder in California. That winner now has the option to take a lump sum cash payout of nearly $500 million.

In Kansas, although no one claimed the massive jackpot, over 32,000 residents walked away with some winnings.

The biggest prize among local players was $500, won by 22 tickets that matched four white balls.

Three additional tickets, which also matched four white balls but with the Megaplier, earned $1,500. Meanwhile, 17,771 tickets matched only the MegaBall, winning $2 each.
