A man who owed over $100,000 in child support and had been avoiding authorities for more than 10 years was arrested last week in Miami. Dominic Weaver, a Kentucky resident, was caught as he got off a cruise ship. He had been on the run until his holiday ended, and detectives flew to Miami to bring him back to Louisville.
Weaver, 47, has never paid any child support since his sentence, and currently owes between $114,000 and $120,000. He has four cases with the child support division, and two of them may lead to additional felony charges.
The Jefferson County Attorney plans to ask the judge to change Weaver’s sentence and send him to prison for four years.
