Kohl’s has announced the closure of 27 underperforming locations by April, including the Stoughton, Massachusetts store at 501 Technology Center Drive.
The decision follows 11 consecutive quarters of sales declines and is part of the company’s strategy to focus on its more profitable stores.
Affected employees have been informed and offered severance packages or the chance to apply for open roles at other Kohl’s locations.
CEO Tom Kingsbury emphasized that these closures are necessary steps to support the company’s long-term growth. Kohl’s announcement coincided with Macy’s revealing plans to close 66 stores in early 2025.
