Maryland Attorney General Delays Release of Bodycam Footage in Fatal Laurel Standoff

The Maryland Office of the Attorney General OAG has announced a delay in the release of bodycam footage related to a fatal standoff with police in Laurel on November 30.

Howard County Police responded to a domestic incident where Tyree Winslow, 29, allegedly fired shots at a home before entering through a window.

Winslow did not comply with police commands, and after an exchange of gunfire, officers set up a barricade but were unable to make contact with him. Around 5:40 p.m., officers entered the home and found Winslow with gunshot wounds, where he was pronounced dead.

The OAG’s delay in releasing the bodycam footage is due to the need for additional time to allow involved parties, such as officers and family members, to view the video before it is made public. While the standard procedure is to release footage within 20 business days, delays can occur due to witness interviews or technical issues.

The OAG did not provide a specific timeline for the footage’s release.
