The Michigan State Police (MSP) has introduced a new Dashboard Portal to make public safety data more accessible and actionable. This portal, available at michigan.gov/msp/divisions/cjic/dashboard-portal, debuts with statewide crime data compiled through the Michigan Incident Crime Report (MICR). This dataset includes information from police agencies across Michigan as required by law.
“We’re excited to leverage technology to transform our public safety statistics from lengthy PDF reports into interactive data dashboards,” said Col. James F. Grady II, director of the MSP. “The Crime in Michigan Dashboard, our first dataset on the portal, offers users accurate, timely, and actionable crime data. It features both static year-end reports and live data updated daily.”
The Crime in Michigan Dashboard allows users to explore MICR data through interactive tables, charts, and graphs that detail reported crimes across the state. It provides complete annual data for the most recent five years (currently 2019–2023), with current-year data updated quarterly.
