The pilot who died in a plane crash at a private airstrip in Scott County on Wednesday afternoon has been identified.
Virginia State Police confirmed that Bradley Nelms, 54, of Washington County, was the sole fatality in the incident.
The crash took place on December 4 at 2:51 p.m. in the 700 block of Davinci Drive. The flight had departed from the Abingdon Highlands Airport.
Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been informed.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
