The search for missing father and son, Chester and Aaron Barret, resumed on Sunday after they vanished while fishing off the coast of Maine in unfavorable sea conditions.
The pair had set out on their 34-foot scallop boat, Sudden Impact, early Saturday from Cobscook Bay State Park.
Their planned route was interrupted by worsening weather, and they failed to return by 5 p.m. that day. Concerned family members alerted the U.S. Coast Guard, which initiated a search two hours later, joined by multiple agencies, including Maine Marine Patrol and the Canadian Coast Guard.
The Barrets had reportedly planned to take refuge in Cutler, but it became unreachable as conditions worsened.
Despite poor visibility that led to a suspension of the search on Saturday, efforts resumed Sunday with the addition of boats and aircraft, continuing the search for the missing fishermen.
