South Carolina Duo Arrested on Drug Charges After I-95 Crash in Halifax County

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. WNCN — A man and woman from South Carolina were arrested on drug charges following a tractor-trailer crash along Interstate 95 in Halifax County early Wednesday morning, according to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the northbound side of I-95. Officers arriving at the scene found a tractor-trailer on its side with two occupants inside the cab. Both individuals emerged from the crash uninjured.

During the investigation, officers discovered a white bag containing methamphetamine on the ground near where the pair had exited the vehicle.

Arrest Details:

  • James Glasgow, 57, of South Carolina, was charged with:

    • Driving while impaired (DWI)
    • Possession of methamphetamine
    • Possession of marijuana
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
    • Possession of marijuana paraphernalia
      Glasgow was issued an $8,000 bond.
  • Tiffany Dawson, 29, of South Carolina, was charged with:

    • Possession of methamphetamine
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
      Dawson was issued a $5,000 bond.

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department has not released additional information as the investigation continues.
