Thirteen arrested in rhea county drug trafficking crackdown

Detectives from the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office, working with the TBI, have arrested thirteen individuals following a months-long investigation into drug trafficking and overdose-related deaths. Six others still face outstanding indictments.

Arrests Made:

  • James Dylan Smith
    • Possession of para-fluoro fentanyl (.5 grams or more)
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Hubert Tankersley
    • Possession of methamphetamine (.5 grams or more) with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver (3 counts)
    • Sale and delivery of methamphetamine (.5 grams or more) (3 counts)
