Tragic discovery: triple shooting leaves three women dead in columbus

Three women were discovered shot to death on Saturday afternoon inside a home on Columbus’s South Side.

Columbus police received a call around 3:50 p.m. from someone who went to check on a friend at a residence on the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue. According to police radio communications, the caller reported finding at least one person who had been shot.

When additional officers arrived, they located two more victims inside the home.

Sgt. James Fuqua confirmed that all three adult women were pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and homicide detectives are investigating the case.

It is not yet confirmed whether the incident is connected to a fatal shooting that occurred four days earlier and less than half a mile away.

On Tuesday, Darrell Hambrick, 45, was shot on the 700 block of East Moler Street and succumbed to his injuries the following day. Records show that Hambrick previously lived at the South Ohio Avenue address where the three women were found on Saturday.

The identities of the victims have not been released.
