Johnson county, iowa – Just after 6:30 saturday morning, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were getting ready to go duck hunting at the sandy beach boat ramp.
While setting up decoys with a canoe, one of the men’s waders began filling with water, making it impossible for him to get back into the canoe. However, the two managed to make it to shallower water.
Two rescue boats were sent to the scene, and first responders were able to rescue both men and their dog. One of the men was taken to a local hospital after showing symptoms of hypothermia.
