Virginia duo caught selling drug and machineguns to federal agent

Two Virginia men received prison sentences for drug trafficking and possessing machine guns after selling them to an undercover agent.

Damien Jahon Reynolds, 36, of Woodford, admitted to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and possessing machine guns. He was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison.

Trey Wright, 26, of Fredericksburg, pled guilty to distributing methamphetamine and possessing machine guns. This week, he was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.

Court documents revealed that on December 20, 2023, Reynolds and Wright sold pills labeled as “ecstasy,” which tests later identified as methamphetamine, along with 12 machinegun conversion devices (MCDs) and two privately made firearms equipped with two additional MCDs.

The items were sold to an undercover agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Reynolds supplied these items to Wright and kept additional methamphetamine and MCDs at his home.

MCDs are devices that convert semiautomatic firearms into fully automatic weapons, classifying them as machine guns under the law.
