United States District Court Judge S. Thomas Anderson sentenced Brantley Miller, 39, of Humboldt, Tennessee, to six years in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee announced today.
According to evidence presented in court, a multi-agency task force began investigating illegal drug distribution in the West Tennessee region in 2019, the department confirmed.
Agents used controlled narcotics purchases, search warrants for suspicious packages, and other investigative tactics to uncover that Kendall Young, Cortez Jackson, and others were shipping methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana from California to Tennessee for redistribution, the department said.
During the investigation, law enforcement seized more than 32 pounds of methamphetamine, over 101 grams of fentanyl, and three firearms, the department confirmed.
The U.S. attorney’s office reported that several co-conspirators also pleaded guilty and received the following sentences:
Young, 32, Humboldt, TN: 188 months in prison, three years of supervised release (firearm possession).
Jackson, 29, Humboldt, TN: 134 months in prison, five years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Vanessa Umanzor, 28, Huntingdon, TN: 43 months in prison, three years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Tristen Teague, 28, Paris, TN: 100 months in prison, three years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Orlando Sangster, 35, Humboldt, TN: 24 months in prison, two years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Jonathan Sandoval, 31, Chula Vista, CA: 120 months in prison, five years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Dejahn Jarrett, 31, Spring Valley, CA: 72 months in prison, three years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Ronnie Young, 69, Humboldt, TN: 120 months in prison, five years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Jaycent Montrell Pankey, 28, Jackson, TN: 42 months in prison, one year of supervised release (using a phone for drug distribution).
Devon Avery Landers, 53, Jackson, TN: 36 months in prison, three years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
Joel Lynn Arnold, 45, Lexington, TN: 84 months in prison, four years of supervised release (methamphetamine conspiracy).
